When Oxford graduate student George Dole lined up against Roger Bannister at Iffley Road, he wore a pair of modestly-cut shorts with contrast binding. Tracksmith have long admired the not-too-long, not-too-short silhouette and decided to re-imagine the style for modern runners.

Made in Tracksmith's 2:09 Mesh, named after “Boston Billy” Rodgers, who set a 2:09:55 at the 1975 Boston Marathon. Legend is, he won wearing a mesh tee found in the rubbish… A great story yes, but since we’re not bin chickens, this’ll suffice.
